:- (1) If the owner or importer of plants, plant products, biological control agents or beneficial insects has reasonable grounds to believe that such plants, plant products, beneficial insects or biological control agents may be left behind, the office shall pay such amount to the owner or importer as prescribed. (2) Upon the office giving an order according to sub-section (1), such owner or importer shall deposit the amount in the office and the office shall give the receipt to the owner or importer concerned.
(3) The amount received according to sub-section (2) shall be deposited by the office in its bond account.
(4) If the plants, plant products, biological control agents or beneficial insects in the office are not found to be infected according to sub-section (1) or if the owner or importer picks them up or if they are infected or if they are treated or destroyed in accordance with this Act, the office shall deposit in the bond account according to sub-section (3) The amount should be returned to the owner of such goods.
(5) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (4), if the office does the treatment or destruction of such plant, plant produce, biological control agent or beneficial insect by itself, only the amount remaining after deducting the cost of such treatment or destruction shall be returned.
